![]() Remington’s QC is in toilet and they use garbage components. ![]() The number of agencies using Remington is steadily declining, and agencies getting new rifles are all opting for higher quality rifles. Police are all phasing out the Remington M700 and 700P rifles, but the most commonly used rifles were the 700P and 700P LTR. I damn sure wouldn’t pick it if I had to shoot it more than 10x a day. I Wouldn’t consider a 300wm at all against humans unless all my shots were going to be beyond 500m. Tweaking things a little I wouldn’t have a 700 at all, it’d be a Bergara HMR. Next would be a 6.5creedmoor 16”-24” same everything else. With a mil/mil FFP scope somewhere around 2.5-10x or 3-15x. ![]() That scenario is AR10 territory hands down, IMO.īut I’ll play the game and tell you a Remington 700 with a 16”-20” barrel, suppressed in 308 with a Palma, varmint or m40 contour barrel would be my choice, light as I can get it with a manners carbon fiber stock. You don’t need or probably want a 15lbs 300wm to shoot and move a bunch then try to defend a fortified position because you’re probably only going to get 5rds fired out of the gun before you realize it’s ineffective for this task. It depends on what kinda of shape you are in, how big an ol boy are ya and how much punishment you can take from the recoil. This is a rifle that would be shot many times in short periods of time to defend a fortified position, or to be used to shoot, go, shoot, go. How should a Remington 700 (300WM) be built out for bug-out, tactical situations? I believe police are running SPS which I understand is a short barrel variant. A few other variants around out the “AR10” type mid range guns. Sr25’s started seeing a lot of service in the early 2000s some units probably had them in the 90s. Air Force was still using m24s around 2014.Īround 2010 the Army came out with the m2010 300wm Sniper Rifle, basically upgrading the old m24s. Rangers, Army SF, Navy, USMC used 300wm(mk13 mod 0 thru mod 7), 338L, 50BMG and bolt action 308 (m40 a1 thru a7, xm3 for USMC). ![]() This generally was considered for inside of 800m. Generally standard issue Army line units went to the m110 around 07-08. The “Military” didn’t go from the m24 to the “ar10” for “long range applications”. You are using loose terms and bad assumptions. What is the difference in ft/lbs at 1000 yards between. ![]() Seeing as how the military switched from the M24 to an AR-10 for long range applications, I am considering consolidating and building upon my AR-10s. I see that now, I didn't realize the M24 was chambered in anything else than. ![]()
